Graffiti Art

These pieces of artwork are overlooked because of the medium in which the artist chose to express their work. These images are great examples of the freedom of art and that it can be expressed through anything and everything. I really enjoy these images because one of my favorite types of photography is street photography and these images would be best described as street art.

Helen Levitt (Black and White & Color Photographs)

These are some of my favorite images of Helen Levitt's color and black and white photography. She is known as one of the masters of street photography and has been known as "the most celebrated and least known photographer of her time."

The Decisive Moment

This is one of my favorite images from Henri-Cartier Bresson who is a master of candid photography. This picture is one of his most popular images and displays his idea of the decisive moment. Bresson speaks about the decisive moment concept and says, "Photography is not like painting, there is a creative fraction of a second when you are taking a picture. Your eye must see a composition or an expression that life itself offers you, and you must know with intuition when to click the camera. That is the moment the photographer is creative, Oop! The Moment! Once you miss it, it is gone forever."

This is one of my favorite images of William Eggleston whose work is about discovering the banalities of everyday culture and isolating that moment in time giving it a meaning through his photographs, also the cover of one of my favorite books of photographs "William Eggleston's Guide To Photography"

First Quarter Final Project Images

In this collection of photographs I focused on the scenes and objects that I encountered in the natural environment. I was not looking for anything specific subject matter to shoot when I would go to a location; I photographed what seemed most interesting to me as I was discovering my surroundings. While photographing, I looked for the natural composition and design elements in scenes, which is a common theme in this group of work
